Knifeman threat to ‘cut up’ worker in shop robbery

A SHOP worker was threatened with a knife during a robbery in Widnes.

Two men entered the Coop store on Derby Road at 8pm on Friday and demanded the contents of the till.

One climbed over the counter and held a knife to the woman, threatening to “cut her up” if she did not co-operate. The men then made off with the cash in the direction of Birchfield Road.

The first robber is described as white, 18-22 years old, medium build and 6ft tall, with a pale complexion, wearing dark padded clothing. The second was slim, 5ft 4ins, in a grey hooded top: both had dark scarves over their faces.
