POPULAR BBC soccer pundit Alan Hansen was left red with rage after thieves broke into his luxury car.
The Match of the Day star returned from an Easter break to discover his black BMW 750i had been targeted.
Police were called to the ex-Liverpool player's £1.5m mansion in Southport, Merseyside, at around 9am yesterday. Hansen, who made 623 appearances for the Reds, has lived at the property for over 20 years.
It is thought the criminals scaled a fence at the 52-year-old's house before targeting the £30,000 vehicle.
A sports bag and a small amount of cash were stolen.
Hansen is not the first sporting icon on Merseyside to be targeted by thieves: current Liverpool stars Peter Crouch, Daniel Agger, Dirk Kuyt and Pepe Reina have all been victims in the past two years.
In December last year, Liverpool Football Club had to employ security guards to protect players’ homes after captain Steven Gerrard's home was ransacked.
