AMANDA CRAVEN, a nail technician from Maghull, will ride Inspirina at Aintree, it was confirmed yesterday.
Amanda, 38, won the chance to ride in a field of 10 amateur jockeys in the John Smith’s People’s Race for charity on Grand National Day.
Inspirina, trained by Richard Ford and owned by Gill Quincey, is a four-year-old colt with one victory to his name from seven starts.
Amanda said yesterday: “I haven’t been on him yet, but I have seen him being ridden by Carrie (Ford) and he looks like a great horse.
“I have been riding out on young horses to get experience on how to react to them if they are behaving unpredictably.
“It’s fun riding a range but I am now quite looking forward to having a go on Inspirina. Roll on April 5.”
Amanda will be riding in aid of local charity Walking With Giants Foundation, which works to enrich the lives of primordial dwarves and to eliminate the stigma and discrimination towards them.
Ladbrokes make Amanda and Inspirina a 14-1 chance for the race next Saturday.
