A LIVERPOOL man who was arrested following police gun raids has admitted possessing two self-loading pistols.
Andrew Tyrer, of Padstow Road, Childwall, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and a further charge of having ammunition without a licence. The 25-year-old also admitted two charges of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Tyrer was arrested following a targeted gun crime day on November 28, 2007, by Merseyside Police.
Officers found two self-loading pistols as well bulleted-cartridges.
Quantities of heroin and cocaine were also discovered in his house.
Judge John Phipps warned Tyrer he was facing a lengthy sentence.
“You will appreciate that for these offences a substantial prison sentence is inevitable.”
He will be sentenced on April 16.
