LIVERPOOL City Council’s press office has been forced to issue a statement of “regret” after giving “inaccurate” information about the closure of a swimming pool.
The council had said one of the reasons Newhall Swimming Pool in Fazakerley, which closed last week, was shutting was because the pool was being held up by scaffolding.
Cllr Steve Rotheram, Labour spokesman on leisure and culture, took pictures of the underneath of the pool that proved this was not the case.
He said he was pleased the situation had now been clarified.
