Support offered to cancer sufferers

A CANCER awareness event offering support to people living with the disease is being held on Saturday.

Living with Cancer is the second of many events scheduled for 2008 by the Countess of Chester Hospital.

It will run between April 12 and 25 from 10am to 12noon, at Links Healthy Living Centre, Ellesmere Port.

As well as offering information and advice on any aspect of cancer, each event will focus on a different theme.

Advice on accessing support, nutrition, working with cancer, and the carer’s role, are just some subjects.

Macmillan Cancer information facilitator Liz Taylor, who is based at the Countess, said: “ In 2004, Macmillan Cancer Support identified that 45% of people with a cancer diagnosis found the emotional aspects of the diagnosis the most difficult to cope with.”
