A CRIMEWATCH appeal into the murder of a Liverpool man has resulted in the names of five potential suspects being given to police.

Anthony Clarke, 45, suffered serious head injuries in an attack during a night out in November 2007.

He was found unconscious outside a McDonald’s restaurant at the junction of Church Street and Paradise Street.

The suspects in the case, two men dressed in black, are shown on CCTV footage from around the area of the attack and police opened a murder investigation after viewing the clips.

DCI Tim Keelan, who appeared on the programme, said: “We have had five names come through on the phones since the show and we did not have them before, so they are all significant new leads.

“The next step is to research these people, along with other information that came through. Then we can either implicate or eliminate these people from the enquiry.”
