Notorious brothers admit brawling

TWO members of a notorious Liverpool crime family have admitted taking part in a brawl.

Gangster Colin Fitzgibbon, 37, and his brother Brian Fitzgibbon 24, both of West Oakhill Park, Old Swan, have pleaded guilty to affray on September 23, 2007.

The duo had denied the offence and were due to stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday , but changed their plea at the eleventh hour.

Co-accused Shayne Williams, 23, of Prestwood Road, Broadgreen, also changed to guilty.

Michael Andrews, 20, of Broadoak Road, also Broadgreen, had earlier pleaded guilty to the same offence.

The four will be sentenced on May 14.

Earlier this year Colin Fitzgibbon was hit with an Asbo that bans him from city centre bars and clubs. He was ordered to stay away from three venues after they were subjected to threats and intimidation.

The ban also prevents him from coming into the city centre with more than six people.

The police put a dossier of evidence before the court to gain the Asbo, which included 12 incidents over five years.

The brothers’ family includes cou-sins Jason and Ian Fitzgibbon, convicted heroin dealers .
