Schoolchildren raise their hats to new city centre

PUPILS at a Liverpool school are gearing up for the opening of the Liverpool One city centre complex by decorating 200 construction helmets.

Children at St Francis of Assisi Academy, in Kensington, were invited to decorate and personalise each of the hats with their own ideas of what the project and the city means to them.

The school workshop, one of a series taking place in the run-up to the opening of the centre, was organised by Liverpool One and local arts and commun- ity partner Brouhaha.

The “designer” hats will go on display at the launch event on May 29.
