THE jury in the trial of two students accused of killing an innocent man in an alleged revenge attack have retired to consider their verdict.
Liverpool University civic design student Sion Hardy suffered a fatal blow to the head after being “jumped on” in a city centre tunnel.
The 24-year-old, from Bangor, North Wales, had just left Nation nightclub and had a chance meeting with childhood friend Stephen Lunn when he was attacked.
John Moores university student Simon Taylor, 22, from Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, denies murder and manslaughter.
His co-accused student and Manchester United employee Kevin O’Dea, originally from County Donegal, denies manslaughter on November 15.
The jury of nine women and three men at Liverpool Crown Court retired to start considering their verdict yesterday and will continue their deliberations today.
