Jury still out in murder trial

A JURY is still considering their verdict in the trial of two students accused of murdering a man in a city centre underpass.

The jury of nine women and three men at Liverpool Crown Court spent all yesterday deliberating in the case of the death of Liverpool University civic design student Sion Hardy.

The 24-year-old, from Bangor, in North Wales, died after suffering a blow to the head on November 15 last year in Tunnage Square passageway.

The prosecution say he was the innocent victim of a revenge attack aimed at his childhood friend Stephen Lunn, whom he had bumped into moments earlier.

JMU student Simon Taylor, 22, of Ashton-under-Lyne, denies murder and manslaughter.

Fellow student and Manchester United employee Kevin O’Dea, 22, originally from County Donegal, denies manslaughter.

The jury will continue their deliberations today.
