Emotional family tell how one moment stole victim from them

SARA HARDY broke down as she told how a moment of violence had stolen her brother’s “promising career.”

Speaking after senten-cing, she told how the family had been devasta-ted by the death of Sion.

Supported by parents Robin and Sharon, Ms Hardy said: “Sion was a special, unique and happy person, and we feel honoured to have had him in our lives.

“He was adored by both his family and friends and his death has had a devastating effect on us all.

“Society needs to be aware of the detrimental effects that violence on our streets can have on innocent victims and their families.

“Sion was so positive and was working towards a promising career. He had such a bright future ahead of him – that has all been taken away from him in a moment.”

The Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe, QC, said Mr Hardy “had nothing whatsoever to do with any skirmish inside the club and was effectively an innocent bystander in the events in the tunnel”.
