Fear for girl’s safety

CONCERN has been raised for the safety of a young girl who was seen talking to the driver of a car in Kirkby.

Police received a call from a member of the public on Thursday night saying the girl, thought to be around nine years old and on a black Raleigh mountain bike, was seen talking to the occupant of a silver car on County Road at about 7pm.

When the passing motorist returned a short time later, both the girl and the car had gone, but the bike remained.

Police have not received reports of a girl missing from home but are taking the report seriously.
