WIRRAL’S new Mayor will lead a walk from Seacombe to New Brighton to unveil a series of plaques commemorating the borough’s maritime history.
Cllr Adrian Jones will join representatives from Wirral’s Heritage and History Society on the walk to highlight the Wirral Maritime Heritage Trail which will be officially launched on Wednesday, May 21.
The trail aims to provide visitors with a unique opportunity to find out more about the people and places of interest through a series of plaques at key sites along the waterfront.
There are five sites with distinctive plaques at Woodside, Eastham, Seacombe, New Brighton and Egremont.
