Latest adults-only ghost tour aims to send shivers down fright fans’ spines

LIVERPOOL’S Shiverpool Ghost Tour has got under way with what it claims is the scariest and bloodiest tour of the city yet.

In fact, this latest one – Auld City Shivers – is the first to be billed as adults only.

“This is much darker and psychological and explores the nature of fear,” said Alex Stone, who co-founded the Shiverpool concept with brother John three years ago.

“We thought we would make it adults only, because we don’t want to be held responsible for nightmares thereafter.

“But we will be running our Shiver Me Timbers tour for children down at the Albert Dock soon, which will run during the day time.”

Auld City Shivers will be based around the axis of Castle Street, Water Street and Dale Street – some of the oldest parts of Liverpool.

The tour, which caters for up to 40 people, starts from the Slaughterhouse, in Fenwick Street, which is regarded as one of the city centre’s most haunted pubs.
