Teenager in New Ferry bypass smash no longer ‘critical’

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was yesterday taken off the critical list after being flung from a car in a crash in Wirral at the weekend.

The teenager is said to be in a serious but stable condition at Arrowe Park Hospital.

A 17-year-old girl who was also thrown from a car is not thought to be as badly hurt as first feared.

The horrific smash happened at 5.30am on Sunday, on the New Ferry bypass in Wirral, near Bolton Road, Port Sunlight.

The red Peugeot in which they were travel- ling, with three other people, crashed into fencing. No other vehicle was involved.

The boy suffered head injuries and sus- pected spinal injuries. Three others in the car escaped serious injury.

Police have confirm- ed that at least one of the casualties is from Bromborough, but have yet to release any further details.
