Arrests over suspected brothel

THREE people were arrested after an investigation into a suspected brothel in Liverpool city centre.

Police took action after receiving complaints about round-the-clock anti-social behaviour and incidents of inappropriate advances to women.

During the search of the premises in Kempston Street, officers seized evidence which suggested the venue was a brothel.

A 27-year-old woman from Tuebrook and a 33-year-old woman from Wallasey were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the management of a brothel.

Another arrest was made of a 52-year-old Old Swan man on suspicion of the same offence.

Both women have been bailed; the man remains in custody.

Neighbourhood Inspector Mark Morgan said: “The venue has now been boarded up.”
