THE famous Laburnum Arch at Ness Gardens – a 20 metre long tunnel with an overwhelming mass of yellow laburnum flowers – is finally in full bloom.
Located in the herb garden the arch only blooms once a year and is currently at its peak. The laburnum archway is the largest in the North West of England.
Kevin Reid, director of Ness Gardens, said: “The archway is one of the most beautiful features here at Ness – it is truly spectacular when in full bloom. Each year people travel from all over the country to see it in its prime.”
An extensive events programme runs throughout the year including; guided walks, Sunday lectures and a variety of courses for everyone.
Children’s boredom busters are taking place in May and a children’s fun day will be also be held at the end of July.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is playing in an open air performance in July
