Alan Moore from Sefton Council

ONE of Merseyside’s most senior local authority figures who was suspended over an allegation of misconduct is to return to work.

Alan Moore, deputy chief executive of Sefton Council, was suspended in 2007.

However, his suspension was lifted following a two-day disciplinary hearing held in Southport.

A council spokesman said: “Appropriate action has been taken in accordance with the council’s internal disciplinary procedures.

“Mr Moore will be returning to work shortly. The matter is now closed.”
