A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been locked up for nine years after shooting at a grandfather with a sawn-off shotgun.

Scott Elliott fired at the man after crawling into his home on his hands and knees.

The shot blasted the door of his home on Stonefield Road.

Liverpool Crown Court heard earlier that day Elliott and 18-year-old Paul While had also threatened the man’s grandson with a shotgun.

CCTV footage captured the pair entering the Tote Sport bookmakers on Dovecot Road, Dovecot, in a bid to scare their teenage rival over a long-running family dispute.

But, as While tried to pull the weapon from his trousers, he fired it into his own foot.

While, of Stonefield Road, was sent to a Young Offenders’ Institute for six years on Friday, while his brother Lee Worswick, 24, of Kensley Road, both Dovecot, was jailed for six years, three months.

Sentencing on Elliott, of New Way, Page Moss, had been adjourned after he admitted possessing two further guns, including a “terrifying” SA80 military assault rifle.

Judge Nigel Gilmour, QC, sent Elliott to a Young Offenders’ Institute for nine years after he admitted possessing a firearm and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
