Rachel Jones who was stabbed to death in Anfield

A WOMAN has denied knifing a mother-of-two to death after a street argument.

Rachel Jones, 26, from Anfield, was chased by a car as she cycled along Woodville Avenue following a confrontation.

She was knocked off her bike and stabbed repeatedly in the chest.

As police tried to identify Ms Jones, her one-year-old daughter, Atalia, was lying on her own at home.

Yesterday, Louise Gardner, 26, of Mallow Road, Anfield, denied the murder on March 14.

She appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video-link from HMP Styal.

She is due to face a two-week trial on August 26 in front of Judge John Roberts.

A number of young boys, understood to have witnessed Ms Jones’s murder, are due to give evidence.

Ms Jones, who also had a seven-year daughter, Demi-Lee, was said to have been a devoted mother.
