Anti-toll protesters cite Dartford solution as the way forward for tunnels

He said: “We think the Government has let the genie out of the bottle recently by saying the tolls are a nuisance in Dartford.”
In February this year, Transport Minister Rosie Winterton announced proposals to allow residents close to the Dartford-Thurrock crossing 50 free journeys a year.
Mr McGoldrick wants the same rights for Wirral and Liverpool people. He said: “We’re here because we think the tolls should be scrapped. If it’s free in Dartford, it should be free here.”
In literature handed out yesterday, the MTUA points out that concessions have been made to people in Skye, London, Runcorn and now Dartford.
