Gunman pleads guilty to attack

A MERSEYSIDE man admitted attacking an-other man at his moth-er’s house after going there with a gun.

Neil Delacruz, 22, pleaded guilty to taking a 38-inch special calibre re-volver with cartridges to his mother Jacqueline’s house.

Liverpool Crown Court heard Delacruz assaulted Anthony McGinnigley, who also lived at Dignum Mead, Childwall.

Delacruz , of nearby Churchfield Road, also denied damaging property, possessing a firearm and possessing a firearm and ammu-nition while prohibited.

But Ian Davies, prose-cuting, said his pleas were acceptable, adding he acknowledged possess-ing a firearm and ammunition at a time when he was at another address.

“He came into the possession of a firearm and went to the proper-ty where his mother and McGinnigley lived..”

Delacruz’s co-accused, Paula Taggart, 20, of Loxwood Close, Childwall, denied possessing a prohibited weapon and ammunition, making threats to kill and unlawfully wounding Anthony McGinnigley.

She faces trial on September 8.
