A NEW Tesco in Chester will create 189 new jobs, and bring the number employed by the supermarket chain in the city to more than 1,000.
The superstore in Sealand Road, Blacon, will create new full time and part time jobs when it opens next month.
Store manager, Matthew France said: “These are all local jobs for local people and I am very proud to have played a part in breathing new life into the heart of the Blacon community.
“My main aim is to deliver the Tesco values, which include giving customers fantastic service and providing quality products at low prices.
“Customers can expect a clean, bright, spacious and above all modern store with a fast and friendly service.”
