AN INQUEST into the death of a toddler from Wirral has been opened and adjourned.
Two-year-old Bethany Wood died just days before her third birthday, after being struck by a Citroen Saxo close to her home in Wilkes Avenue, Leasowe, on Monday.
Coroner’s officer Donald Johnston told the inquest Bethany had been pronounced dead at Arrowe Park Hospital less than an hour after the collision with the car.
The youngster suffered serious injuries following the collision.
Wirral Coroner Christopher Johnson said police were investigating Bethany’s death and adjourned the inquest until October 2.
