City council inquiry exposes rogue website ‘sources’

FORMER Liverpool Council leader and next year’s Lord Mayor, Mike Storey, leaked information to a blog site that alleged corruption and malpractice at the authority, it was claimed last night.

Labour leader Joe Anderson last night produced a copy of a heavily blanked-out council report which he claimed concluded Liberal Democrat Cllr Storey had leaked information to the Liverpool-Evil-Cabal website.

Despite most names being blanked from the internal investigation report, Cllr Anderson told a meeting of the full council other details within the report could only lead to the conclusion that Cllr Storey was the person leaking information.

Council leader Warren Bradley hit back at Labour, and suggested that Cllr Anderson, and deputy Labour leader Paul Brant, had also given information to the site, known in council circles as “the blog”.

Last night, Cllr Storey categor- ically denied leaking information to the infamous website, and said that, had Cllr Anderson made the allegations outside the council chamber (where he is covered by legal privilege), he would have sued the Labour leader.
