Murder suspect held after woman found dead

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman’s body was found at a house fire in Tarleton.

Lancashire detectives are investigating after firefighters found the woman’s body at the house in Heritage Way, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police said the woman had suffered stab wounds. Formal ID of the victim is due later today.

A man was rescued by fire crews and taken to hospital in Ormskirk suffering from smoke inhalation. Police say a man, aged 57, has been arrested and taken to Leyland Police Station.
