A FIREFIGHTER has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the murder of his wife.
Anthony de Asha, 49, appeared at Crosby magistrates’ court on Saturday after being charged with killing his wife, Joanne.
Mrs de Asha, 45, was stabbed to death at the couple’s Morningside home, in Crosby, on Thursday night.
Police were called to the house by neighbours to deal with a reported domestic incident.
But when they arrived, officers found Mrs de Asha with stab wounds. Paramedics were called but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr de Asha will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on July 29.
Mrs De Asha had lived with her husband in Crosby for around 10 years after the collapse of her first marriage.
She has two adult daughters, Jenny and Becky, one of whom is currently studying at university.
