THOUSANDS of pounds of equipment was destroyed in an apparent arson attack on a mobile unit at a Merseyside school.
The fire at Woolton County Primary School completely gutted the building, which is used for a Kids’ Club and a range of after-school activities.
The intensity of the blaze also damaged around 30 double-glazed windows in the school buildings themselves.
Firefighters were called to the primary school at around 10.30pm on Sunday.
The mobile unit contained play and sports equipment, along with electrical goods and equipment such as televisions and computer games. Site manager Phil Taws said yesterday: “Years of work have gone up in smoke and I just feel devastated by it.
“However, we will rebuild and move forward.”
