Landlubber pirates get lost on an a-maizing day out on the farm

SCHOOLCHILDREN in pirate costume got lost in a giant maze at the launch of this year’s Amazing Maize Maze.

The pirate themed attraction at Apple Jacks Farm, in Stretton, near Warrington, opens to the public daily from Saturday.

The maze, cut from a five-acre field of maize, or corn, has been designed in the shape of a pirate with a treasure chest.

It contains more than 2.5 miles of pathways with 89 junctions.

This is the sixth year for the attraction at the farm, which is open daily until September 2.

Children from St Mathews Church of England primary school, in Stretton, donned pirate hats and eye patches for their visit.
