A FIRE broke out on board a Royal Navy stores ship moored in Birkenhead.
Fort Rosalie, which supports the Royal Navy’s fleet at sea by providing fuel, munitions and other vital stores, is currently undergoing a multi-million refurbishment.
Eight firefighting crews were called to tackle a blaze on deck four of the ship when insulation caught alight at 10am today.
The ship had no cargo or people on board at the time.
