FIREFIGHTERS were called to Cammell Laird ship yard at 10am on Saturday to a fire on board a Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessel.
The fire started in the aft sewage space on deck four, causing damage to cables, lagging and insulation.
There was smoke damage to the 100m-squared deck and slight smoke damage to the second and third decks.
The 28,000-tonne vessel was not carrying any cargo.
