A TRAVEL call centre run by Merseytravel has scooped another major award.
The Traveline service won the Travel Information and Marketing Award at the National Transport Awards 2008.
It has already been named Britain’s best travel call centre for five consecutive years in Department for Transport surveys.
As well as giving detailed travel information for Merseyside, Halton and Widnes, the Traveline service has expanded to help with queries for travel across the north-west, including Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria.
Cllr Mark Dowd, chairman of Merseytravel, said: “This latest award proves without doubt that we have the best Traveline team in the country, full of dedication and enthusiasm.”
Tim Partington, head of the 17-strong Traveline team, said: “Once again, this was a strong team effort and I’m proud of everyone involved.”
The Traveline Merseyside number is 0871 200 22 33 and it is available between 7am and 8pm on Mondays to Fridays and 8am-8pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
