ONE lane on a busy section of Liverpool’s Strand will be closed until the end of August.
The closure will last while a bus lane is built.
Work has started on the bus lane from James Street to Paradise Street Interchange along The Strand.
During construction of the rest of the lane – between Red Cross Street and the Paradise Street Interchange – one southbound lane will be out of action.
Two lanes in the southbound direction will stay open during the work, which is expected to end before the Mathew Street Musical Festival on August 24 and 25.
The temporary pedestrian crossing at Red Cross Street will also be removed. Pedestrians should use the new, wider crossing point at James Street.
The lane closure on the northbound section of Strand Street will stay in operation until about the end of August.
