A 13-YEAR-OLD youth suffered serious injuries after being hit by a van which struck him as he cycled away from police in Wirral.
Officers were called to the dockland area around Seacombe at about 4.20pm yesterday after a report of anti-social behaviour.
When police arrived, the 13-year-old boy mounted his bike.
He ignored calls by officers to stay where he was, and collided with a red Transit van that was travelling along Tower Road, Seacombe.
He sustained a serious head injury and abdominal injuries, and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
