Firemen join ‘Hey Jude’ singalong

MORE than 3,000 firefighters will lead a massive public sing-along of Hey Jude to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its UK release.

It will take place on Bank Holiday Monday at the Albert Dock and the Beatles Story museum will be distributing lyric sheets so that everyone can join in.

The firefighters will be on hand for the 10th World Firefighters Games (WFG08) – a 10 day festival of sport and camaraderie.

Janine Ross, marketing manager of the Beatles Story, said: “This will be a wonderful family event with free balloons and flags for all children attending.”

WFG08 general manager Dave Robinson added: “The ‘Hey Jude’ sing-along will be the perfect build-up to our official opening ceremony on the same afternoon at the Liverpool Echo Arena and we are thrilled to have been invited to take part.”
