‘Hate’ attack charge

THOUSANDS of UK Facebook users were left at a loose end last night after online game Scrabulous disappeared from the site.

The suspension of the game follows months of wrangling between the creators of the online game and the companies who own the rights to Scrabble.

Hasbro owns the rights to Scrabble in the US and Canada, while Mattel owns the rights elsewhere in the world.

Yesterday, Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla, who created Scrabulous, said they agreed to block it in the United States and Canada, after Hasbro sued the Indian brothers last week.

In January, the toy giants wrote jointly to the social networking site’s US head office calling for Scrabulous to be pulled from the site due to copyright issues.

The site had resisted pulling the game and yesterday said the brothers, not the company, made the decision.

UK fans last nigt vented their displeasure after they found the game was also gone from their applications panels.
