Shoppers at Liverpool One get a sneak preview of weekend’s street party fun
IN THE run-up to the Brouhaha street party that will take over Liverpool on Saturday the artists have been out and about.
Last night visitors to Liverpool One were treated to entertainment from around the world as they shopped courtesy of the Brouhaha International Festival.
After giving those at the launch of the new shopping centre in May a taster of the festival’s performers, six of the groups went back to give them more.
Bringing music and dance will be Belmont Freetown Cultural Arts and Folk Company from Trinidad and Tobago; La Banda Diavola, a brass band from Italy; and Live Gravy from Holland. There will also be acrobatic dancing from Kozman ti Dalon from Reunion, while hip-hop and dance will be provided by Capliore Double Dutch group from Japan as well as Liverpool’s very own company, No Sweat.
The groups were just a small sample of the 180 performers that have arrived in Liverpool for the three-week-long Brouhaha festival which culminates on Saturday in Prince’s Park.
Organiser Giles Agis said: “We had some of the most talented acts from around the world performing in the city last night.
“It is great that Brouhaha and Liverpool One have been able to team up together for this unique and exciting event.”
