PEOPLE are being encouraged to take a walk in the park as the finale of a summer-long campaign to make public spaces safe and attractive.
A host of activities is taking place as part of SafeSpace, at the end of the month, to encourage the use of parks.
These include:
A kite making session at 2pm on August 27 and a water rocket making workshop on August 29, at Birkenhead Park.
A free performance by the Hesketh Bank Brass Band, in Churchtown’s Botanic Gardens, Sefton, which starts at 2.15pm.
The Halewood Country Show at Halewood Park on September 7 which will include charcoal making, bodging and willow weaving workshops.
The last day of the Urban Beach in Church Square on Saturday, St Helens, August 30, and a model boat regatta in Taylor Park on Sunday, August 31, suitable for all ages and starting at 1pm.
A new play, appropriately titled Park!, performed by North End Writers at 1pm on Sunday August 31 in Calderstones Park. This will be followed at 7.30pm by a production of Peter Pan at Sefton Park.
There is also a competition for young people to design a new SuperSafeSpace Lambanana.
