Ashcombe Road, Liverpool, where Luke Howard was stabbed
A 15-year-old boy was tonight charged with the murder of teenager Luke Howard, who was stabbed to death following an argument at a party in Liverpool, Merseyside Police said.
Police were called to a house in Ashcombe Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, just after 7am yesterday where they discovered the 16-year-old had been stabbed, Merseyside Police said.
Luke, who was stabbed following an argument at a party, was taken to hospital but died.
A second post-mortem examination was due to take place tomorrow.
The Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: “A second post-mortem will take place before the results are released. We are also waiting for toxicology results.
“When there is a suspicious death there are always two post-mortems. The post-mortem is unlikely to take place today."
Yesterday Police Superintendent Graham Yip appealed for people at the party to contact officers investigating the murder.
Neither the alleged attacker nor the victim is believed to have lived at the address where police found the stabbed boy.
At 1.30pm today there were two bunches of flowers, including yellow roses and white carnations, near the gate of Number 9 Ashcombe Road in Old Swan.
By tonight two more bunches of flowers had been laid near the gate to Number 9 Ashcombe Road.
One message on one of the bunches of flowers said: “Deapest (sic) sympathy. To Luke’s family, RIP LAD, ’THINKING OF YOU ALWAYS’ we’ll miss you lad. Widgey, J.B. and Luke Willo.”
Another card said: “Always rememb-erea (sic). Love Zoey and Lois.”
