Keane’s wife in theft appeal to burglars

THE wife of Liverpool FC star Robbie Keane has appealed for the return of precious items stolen from the couple’s home.

Claudine Keane, 25, discovered several items of jewellery and clothing had gone missing from the plush city centre apartment the couple are renting.

Mrs Keane, who has a double first in economics and finance from University College Dublin, is said to be extremely upset at the theft of some very personal possessions.

Despite missing a Franck Muller watch worth thousands and a stylish Gucci leather jacket, the one thing the part-time model wants back most is a tiny part of her wedding outfit.

The couple tied the knot in June, before the 27-year-old striker signed on at Anfield in a £20m deal.

The thief took Mrs Keane’s diamond-effect hairclip from the big day. The four-inch accessory looks like a comb with branches of crystals. DCI Tim Keelan, of Merseyside police, said: “We would urge anyone who may know of their whereabouts to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0151-777 6040, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
