LIVERPOOL singing star Natasha Hamilton’s nightclub lost an appeal to reopen its doors yesterday.

H Bar, on Victoria Street, was closed on Wednesday by licensing officials after a double stabbing and police concerns about clientele.

The club yesterday appealed, but the coun-cil’s licensing commit-tee upheld the decision because of the risk of revenge attacks and the presence of “known criminals”.

The bar, one of Liver-pool’s most celebrity-studded venues, will remain shut until Octo-ber 1, pending a full review of its licence.

Ms Hamilton did not attend yesterday but a spokesman denied the allegations and has pledged to co-operate.

The two men injured on Monday told officers they had been in an altercation at H but refused to co-operate.

When police forensic teams arrived they found that blood spots, which could have been vital evidence, had been cleaned away by staff.

PC Stuart Moore, of Merseyside Police’s licensing unit, said: “If we had statements from those men, we would establish beyond all doubt the incident took place inside the premises.”

He added: “We do have serious concerns of retaliatory attacks.

“We need to sit down with the management, go through the issues, and make sure they are addressed completely.”

Ms Hamilton’s man-ager, Martin O’Shea, said: “Natasha will do everything possible to change the police’s opinions of the club.”
