Ex-Anfield legend hosts golf tournament to help support cancer charity

LIVERPOOL legend Alan Hansen has hosted a charity golf event at a Southport club.

Golfing enthusiasts had the chance to tee-off with sporting celebrities in the Alan Hansen Golf Classic, in aid of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

It is the ninth year the ex-Liverpool star has hosted the event, held at Hillside Golf Club, near Southport.

The ex-defender turned football pundit was joined by a team of celebrity friends, including former LFC teammate Alan Kennedy.

Roy Castle corporate events manager, Helen Raghu, said: “We are very grateful to Alan Hansen, who has given The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation brilliant support.”
