INVESTIGATIONS are under way after part of a road collapsed in Chester creating a hole one and a half metres deep.
Cheshire County Council Engineering Service was fored to warn drivers that Mill Lane in the Upton area of Chester is closed to traffic between Egerton Road and Delvine Drive.
Traffic diversions were set up via Church Lane and Upton Lane.
County Council engineers were hoping that the cause of the collapse will be found and the road reinstated by this weekend.
