A £16MILLION cannabis gang have been smashed by police on Merseyside.
Detectives were celebrating today after dismantling the spine of a criminal enterprise thought to have flooded the north west with the drug.
The culmination of months of work and surveillance came yesterday when officers carried out six dawn raids - five in Merseyside and one in Greater Manchester - as they went after the alleged ringleaders.
In total, 11 people were arrested.
