ST GEORGE’S Hall will be transformed into a Halloween winter wonderland for a charity ball tipped to be the event of the year.

Tickets for Liverpool Unites Halloween Ball next month are selling like hotcakes as celebri-ties including former Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton and Hollyoaks stars book their tables.

The night, which will see money go towards a proposed community centre named after 11-year-old Rhys Jones, promises to be a glitzy affair.

Sponsored by local businesses, it will kick off with an Italian choir and champagne reception.

Award-winning caterer Carrington will serve a stunning three-course dinner with wine.

A surprise celebrity compere will oversee the night’s festivities which will include live perform-ances by Natasha and “The Band With No Name”.

Stilt walkers, mine artists, jugglers and magicians will mingle amidst the themed tables.

After dinner there will be a DJ, dancing and an auction to help raise more funds for the charity. Liverpool Unites is more than half way towards its £100,000 target for the Rhys Jones community centre, named after the 11-year-old who was fatally shot as he walked home from football practice in Croxteth Park a year ago.

The charity is supported by the Liverpool Daily Post and its sister paper the Liverpool Echo.

Katie Mercer, Liverpool Unites fundraiser said: “With Halloween on a Friday and St George’s Hall hosting this event, it is sure to be a fantastic evening for all.”

Organised by SK Events, which has arranged many projects around the city, it is sponsored by Matalan, Ph-Creative and Bananafish Management.
