Calendar girl Atkinson makes store opening a memorable date
ACTRESS and glamour model Gemma Atkinson helped open a new entertainment superstore in Liverpool ONE yesterday.
The former Hollyoaks star signed her 2009 calendar at Zavvi shortly after Liverpool FC legend Ian Rush formally opened the store.
Miss Atkinson will appear on the big screen soon in Brit flick Boogie Woogie starring alongside Christopher Lee and Heather Graham.
Fans queue inside the new 14,500 sq ft store which boasts a huge DVD and Blu-Ray collection as well as a Ticketline box office.
The new store also features an area dedicated to the Beatles with exclusive licensed products.
The Manchester based model is now gearing up for a run at the Manchester Royal Opera house at Christmas playing the part of Peter Pan.
In September she went to Cape Town to film Adrenaline Junkie with Jack Osbourne – swimming with sharks and bungee jumping out of helicopters were just a few of the adventures she undertook.
Zavvi was formed in September 2007 when a management buy-out team purchased the company from Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group.
