Premier League footballer Steven Pienaar will not face charges after being accused of assaulting a woman, police have said.
The Everton midfielder, 26, was arrested on Sunday morning after presenting himself at a police station in Liverpool.
It followed a report of an alleged assault at a flat in the Sefton Park area of the city.
Merseyside Police said today there will be no charges against the Johannesburg-born footballer and he will face no further action.
The South African international is currently injured after suffering a broken toe.
