A PENSIONER died in his car after tracking two men who were acting suspiciously outside his house.
The 65-year-old spotted the two men near his home on Hilary Close, Prescot, on Saturday at 2.30pm.
As they left, he got into his red Nissan Micra along with his wife and slowly followed them as they walked towards the Wellington pub.
He continued to tail the pair across St Helens Road, New Road, and on to Burrows Lane, before watching them scramble over a wall, near the reservoir close to Knowsley Safari Park.
He then collapsed in his car and paramedics were called to the scene before taking him to Whiston Hospital. He died a short time later.
A Home Office post mortem will now be carried out to determine how he died.
Merseyside Police are hoping the two men in question will come forward to help explain what led to the man's death.
Both are thought to be in their early 20s and were wearing dark clothing.
Anyone who saw the Micra following them on Saturday should call police on 0151 777 1561 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
