Woman admits stabbing partner in the chest

A WOMAN has admitted stabbing her partner in the chest.

Stephanie Gregson attacked her boyfriend, Anthony Hammond, with a kitchen knife, narrowly missing his heart. The 43-year-old, of Gladstone St, St Helens, was originally charged with wounding with intent on July 10.

But yesterday she appeared at Liverpool Crown Court and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of unlawful wounding.

Judge William George will sentence her on November 3.

Judge George said: “There was self-harming by the complainant, and that is why she became involved with him.

“In these circumstances, the weapon was removed from the complainant and she stabbed him and seriously injured him.”

Since the attack, Mr Hammond has refused to co-operate with the police and denied them access to his medical records.
